Zeta Omega At Large is a chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society whose mission is to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide. 

History of Sigma Theta Tau
         In 1922 six nurses founded Sigma Theta Tau at the Indiana University Training School for Nurses, now the Indiana University School of Nursing, in Indianapolis, Ind, USA. The founders chose the name from the Greek words Storgé, Tharsos and Timé meaning "love," "courage" and "honor." The honor society became incorporated in 1985 as Sigma Theta Tau International, Inc., a not-for-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) tax status in the United States.

The Zeta Omega chapter membership comprises of members from the academic institutions listed below.

College of New Rochelle School
          The College of New Rochelle School of Nursing has been preparing service oriented professionals for 100 years and Professional Registered Nurses for over 25 years. Our School of Nursing graduates are well prepared for the NCLEX-RN exam, and more importantly, prepared to practice in today’s challenging and dynamic health care environment. Our alumni are practitioners and leaders in some of the largest health care agencies across the nation. Not only do our students establish caring practices with acute and chronically ill clients, but also learn to be persuasive with clients relative to the important issues of health promotion and disease prevention. Our students are also provided the foundation for graduate level education and advanced nursing practice.

Dominican College
          The aim of Dominican College is to promote educational excellence, leadership and service in an environment characterized by respect for the individual and concern for the community.
          The beliefs and values of the Division of Nursing are consisitent with the mission of the Dominican College of Blauvelt. The nursing faculty is committed to the development of caring leaders who pursue personal and educational excellence through service to society. Faculty support a curriculum that teaches achievement and encourages students to value personal integrity, empowers students to live with purpose, prepares students for productive careers, and generates inquisitive minds that demonstrate how to use knowledge to effect change in society. The college offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master of Science degree program.

Mercy College
          Mercy College, with campuses in Dobbs Ferry, Bronx and Manhattan offers nursing programs as part of the Health Professionals Division. The undergraduate nursing program provides the opportunity for RN's to earn a baccalaureate degree. The graduate nursing program has tracks in Nursing Education and Nursing Administration. A graduate degree and post-masters can be in earned in hte graduate nursing tracks. 
          The undergraduate RN to BS program awards 33 credits for lower division nursing for both associate and diploma graduates. Nursing courses may be taken at out Dobbs Ferry or Manhattan campus near Harold Square. Nursing courses are also offered online. The RN to BS program can be completed in two to three years and prepares nurses for graduate study.
          Mercy College has articulation agreements with Borough of Manhattan Community College, Cochran School of Nursing, Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing and Westchester Community College. An articulation agreement permits seamless progression in education from an associate degree to the BSN.
A bridge option is available for registered nurses with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing. Once the three bridge courseds are completed, the nurse can matriculate in one of the graduate tracks.

Pace University
          Pace University's Leinhard School of Nursing Pace University is dedicated to offering access and opportunity for qualified individuals of diverse talents, interests, experiences, and origins to pursue careers within the profession of nursing. Faithful to the Pace University motto Opportunitas, the School of Nursing is dedicated to and supports commitment to individuals, families, and communities at local, national, and international levels to meet current and future health care needs. 
          Lienhard School of Nursing enrolls students into the following programs: Bachelor of Science, Baccalaureate Completion Program for RN's, Combined Degree Program for Non-Nurse College Graduates, MS/Family Nurse Practitioner, MS/Nursing Informatics, MS/Womens Health Care Nurse Practitioner, and an MA in Nursing Leadership which prepares students to assume the leadership role of educator or administrator in a variety of educational and practice settings.
